I build autonomous robots that have to work outside the lab, where the map is uncertain and the sensors disagree.

Master’s student in Robotics and Automation at Sorbonne University with a background in electrical and electronics engineering, and hands-on R&D on mobile autonomous robots. I work across the whole stack: mechatronic design, embedded control, perception, sensor fusion and ROS 2 navigation, with a strong bias for getting things running on real hardware.

Projects

Three write-ups with the architecture, the node graphs and the reasoning behind design choices.

02 / Also built

Other projects

A rendered 3D LiDAR point cloud of a street, coloured by height

Localisation with GNSS and 3D LiDAR

Upcoming

A university project starting this year: fuse a GNSS fix with 3D LiDAR scan matching so the pose survives the places satellites do not reach, under trees, between buildings, inside tunnels.

Detection model output on surgical trays, with labelled instruments

Surgical tool detection

2025

A detection model that reads a surgical tray and names what is on it, so an assisting system can tell at a glance what is present and what is missing. Trained to separate instruments that look almost identical: curved and straight Mayo scissors, a scalpel and a dissection clamp, on reflective steel under theatre lighting.

CAD assembly of the assistive robotic door opener

Assistive door opener

2026

A compact retrofit that opens a normal interior door for people with limited mobility. High torque actuators and a servo latch release driven from an Arduino, with limit sensing and a force cut-off so it stops if something is in the way. Built alongside a small market-fit study.

The tracked firefighter robot with IR sensors and an aluminium frame

Firefighter robot

2023

A tracked robot that searches a space, finds a flame and puts it out with no operator in the loop. IR sensors handle obstacle avoidance and environment sensing, and the decision logic arbitrates between searching, approaching and extinguishing depending on what the sensors currently agree on.

Read The State of
the Robot Economy

An essay on what changes when machines can earn, hold and spend money on their own account: why software agents crossed that line first, why robots follow, and what an economy of such machines would mean for growth and for the cost of living.

Where I have worked

Jun – Aug 2026

Robotics R&D intern

PATS Indoor Drone Solutions Delft, NL
Reinforcement learningMicro-drones Sim to real
  • Developed reinforcement learning policies and world-model approaches for autonomous micro-drones that pursue and intercept flying moths mid-air, for chemical-free pest control in greenhouses
  • Iterated on policy training and evaluation in simulation, reaching a best interception rate of 64 %
  • Ran the first sim-to-real flight tests on the physical platform, a Betaflight fork
Sep 2026 – present

Robotics team member

Robotech Sorbonne Paris, FR
Ongoing Autonomous robotTeam of students
Building a fully autonomous robot with the university team for the French National Robotics Cup, the Coupe de France de Robotique. Match play is entirely autonomous: the robot has to localise on the table, plan its own actions against a clock, and score without any operator input.
Jul 2026 – present

Founder

Open Robot Economy Remote
Ongoing ROS 2Open source
Building both the open source tooling that lets robots transact with each other directly and the community around it. The point is not only to ship a library, it is to get developers, researchers and roboticists building this infrastructure together in the open, so the standards for machine-to-machine payments are set by the people who will actually run the robots. Alpha v1.0 of the robopay package is out for ROS 2 Humble and Jazzy, with wallets, escrow, payment requests and sensor-triggered payments.
